we spent our fourth of july in davis. we knew that it would be focused on food and so we started our preparations at the grocery store- meat, watermelon, and fixings for apple pie. we went swimming at the arroyo community pool with the culbertsons and then went to their place for a bbq afterward with some other friends. we ate really well and had a fun time.
tahoe was a blast. it took ricks and i all of two hours to get there which was super nice. we stayed with my parents, my grandma, and my sister, adriane in a condo on the beach. the week was filled with lounging on the beach, boating, swimming, and eating well. we bbq-d almost every night -- steak, hamburgers, flank steak, and pizza, too. ate tons of yummy snacks: hi chews, cats cookies, cookie butter, etc. we had a couple of sub-par eating-out adventures as well: lanzas was particularly memorable because of how bad it was.
we mini-golfed. we played a bunch of games with cousins. spot it became a quick favorite. when we played hand and foot, my cousin, kelsie and i won that game hands down! there was a little pranking, a little midnight-swimming au natural as punishment for losing a game. i watched ricks wake-board and then tube so violently that the tube popped, which i think ricks was secretly grateful for ; )
we watched a boat sink and then watched as the coast guard pumped the water out of it and towed it away. we tried really hard to read books without getting distracted. we kayaked, paddle-boated, and built sandcastles. we wore ourselves out relaxing. tahoe is always memorable. we love spending time with all my cousins and soaking up the rays in tahoe.
we cant wait for next year!
